TAME IMPALA FIRST US HEADLINING GIG

My first post on this blog was about the band Tame Impala from Australia. I was able to see them headline there first show ever in the states at Sub T on Monday night here in Chicago! I have to say i was more then impressed...

Rockers OH MY GOD release a new video "My Own Adventure" from the latest record The Night Undoes the Work of the Day.

Chicago, IL – June 21, 2010. Chicago indie-rockers Oh My God have lured renowned Myspace/MTV starlet *Miss Tila into appearing in their new My Own Adventure music video.

At once dreamy and seamy, the video follows a very seductive-looking Tila (in her first rock-video cameo) as she investigates provocative sounds coming from a gas station bathroom. The song, My Own Adventure, is a standout cut from the band’s latest album, The Night Undoes the Work of the Day (Split Red).

The video features an exclusive remix by Grammy winner Justin Niebank, who has engineered, mixed or produced for everyone from Eric Clapton and Albert Collins to Daughtry and Taylor Swift.

CURTIS EVANS LIFE WITH THE BUFFALO

Last night I was at the Double Door for Curtis Evans and Our Friends Electric's Record Release show. The album "Life With the Buffalo" is the first LP from Chicago songwriter Curtis Evans. The album is a follow up to his 2008 EP, "More Songs About Loneliness" and the second album that Evans has put out on Chicago's Grape Juice Records. "Life With the Buffalo" features 12 new songs that range from roaring rock n roll highs on "Sister," "Mark of the Beast" and "Windows" to desolate lows on "You and Me" and "Lion in Winter." Yup I think the Amazon Description above just sums it up perfectly!

TOM SCHRAEDER & HIS EGO RELEASE ONCE LACE NOW COTTON

Tom Schraeder & His Ego took over Lincoln Hall in Chicago a couple or weeks ago to release his lovely new record Once Lace, Now Cotton via Austin Label Township Records.

Jonny Rumble is a band from Chicago that just released there 4th Full Length record JR on June 15th via Rock Proper Music for FREE and I gotta say this might my favorite record so far this summer!  They are playing a record release show June 25th at Beat Kitchen that I highly recommend attending.

TAME IMPALA ON TOUR IN SUPPORT OF INNERSPEAKER

Tame Impala is a band from a small coastal town called Perth, Australia and they will be headling a show at Subterranean here in Chicago Monday June 21. Timeout Chicago called Tame Impala a "Bar, boogie, stoner, cock, you name it—Australians excel at hairy rock." If that doesn't spark your curiosity I don't know what will. They are currently on tour with MGMT also.

Tame Impala opens for MGMT at Riviera Theatre Friday 18 and headlines at Subterranean on Monday 21.
