ADLER AFTER DARK FEATURING SKY WHITE TIGER

July's “Adler After Dark” (Thursday, July 15) will feature two sets by Brooklyn-based psych-pop outfit Sky White Tiger. Led by Louis Schwadron (ex-Polyphonic Spree), the band is inspired by works of astrological mythology and creates original music that is accompanied by virtual landscapes. Sky White Tiger aims to embed and amplify the mobile art form of live music into the planetarium setting by utilizing video dome projections, constellation-based imagery and light-based costume design.

Opener DJ Plastic Crimewave was born one Steven H Krakow and was quickly drawn to colorful comic books, the Byrds and Mad Magazine and it's basically been a straight line ever since, delving deeper into 60's psychedelia, cartooning and all things vibrationally bizarre. He heads up the Plastic Crimewave Sound, a spaced-out acid punk ensemble inspired by the underground sounds of Velvet Underground, Krautrock, biker jams and freeform musics.
