John Michaels & Seven Ships

Local songwriter John Michaels is following up his quirky debut, A Legend in His Own Mind (2006), with the stately orchestral folk LP Other Side of the Stars (credited to Michaels and his backing band Seven Ships). The album, due later this year on limited edition vinyl, was produced by Brian Zieske (Apteka, Secret Colours, Pet Lions) and features the standout cuts "Other Side of the Stars" and "Of the Bridges."

Expect to hear selections from Other Side of the Stars when Michaels performs at Uncommon Ground, 3800 N. Clark, next Tuesday, July 31, at 8PM.
