The New Folk & Practice Space Present The Damn Choir

Chicago's The New Folk are kicking off their August Practice Space residency at Schuba's Tavern next Monday, August 6, by spotlighting three emerging Chicago bands. Tickets and more info here.

While The New Folk won't be performing at the first two residency dates, they have booked like-minded artists representative of the Windy City's alternative folk scene. The Damn Choir will headline on 8/6, and their sound will appeal to fans of Mumford & Sons, Bright Eyes and The Waterboys. In direct support will be Cyndy Fike, whom some might know as one half of the duo Nelken. Jeremy Keen & The False Starts will open the show with their take on atmospheric, Midwestern Americana.

Tune in to Radio One on Thursday, August 23, at 6PM for an interview with New Folk band leader Todd Kessler.
