The New Folk & Practice Space Present Common Shiner, 8/13

The New Folk's Practice Space residency at Schuba's Tavern is underway! Next Monday, August 13, the venue will host three emerging Midwest bands beginning at 8PM. Tickets and more info here.

Headliners Common Shiner play smart, piano and guitar-driven pop pitched somewhere between Ben Folds Five and Frightened Rabbit. Minneapolis singer-songwriter Brian Wheat is a romantic balladeer with a sweet croon as evidenced on last year's winning Looking Alive. Opener Jonas Friddle is riding high on the release of two new albums, both of which have been receiving national radio airplay and terrific reviews on roots music blogs.

Tune in to Radio One on Thursday, August 23, at 6PM for an interview with New Folk band leader Todd Kessler.
