Chicago Bands a Smart Option for this Year's Taste of Chicago

With premium tickets fetching $25 for Taste of Chicago shows at the Petrillo Music Shell, budget-conscious fans may want to sidestep the big stage for some top local bands playing the free "Bud Light Stage," July 10-14 (each day follows a "theme" of sorts). Highlights include:

Rock and soul outfit Great Divide performing on Wednesday, July 10 (4PM/ "Sax in the City"); country rock outfit Rivals of the Peacemaker performing on Thursday, July 11 (4PM/ "Musical Smorgasbord"); hot soul outfit The Congregation headlining on Friday, July 12 ("We've Got the Blues"); The Steak House Mints (pictured) playing Saturday, July 13 (2:20PM/ "Indie Rock"); melodic rockers Hemmingbirds opening for the fabulous Kelly Hogan on Sunday, July 14 ("Anything Goes").
