Chicago (by way of Indianapolis) jazz and soul singer Sarah Marie Young will be celebrating the release of her debut CD, Too Many Februaries, with a show at Schuba’s on Wednesday, July 31.
Young was able to make Too Many Februaries after winning the 2011 Shure Montreux Voice Competition (as judged by Quincy Jones) at the Montreux Jazz Festival. The album was recorded at Balik Farm Studios in Toggenberg, Switzerland. You can hear the advance singles, “Good Morning to You,” “Too Many Februaries” and “Simple Love” via SoundCloud.
