There will be more than just barbeque and beer on hand at the 2nd annual 6 Corners BBQ Fest this Saturday, June 16.
The main stage at Milwaukee Ave and Irving Park Rd will feature a strong bill of local roots rock from 12:30PM-8:30PM.
The afternoon will kick off with summer festival favorites The Shams Band, who just announced the pre-sale of their sophomore album, Cold City. They will be followed by the Four Star Brass Band who mix New Orleans brass with Windy City soul and funk to a winning end. The string-heavy Americana outfit Future Laureates fill out the under-card before headliners The Voodoo Kings and The Waco Brothers close out the evening.
Led by Mekon and celebrated painter John Langford, The Waco Brothers are a Chicago institution: a boozy bunch of cowpunks who put on a hell of a show. A bit more under-the-radar, The Voodoo Kings might be the band to catch at 6 Corners--their unpretentious take on classic rock n' roll is tailor-made for soaking up the last rays of late afternoon sun; not to mention healthy amounts of sauce and suds!
