The Shams Band Kick of July Residency @ Schuba's Next Monday!

Local roots heroes The Shams Band are set to kick off their July residency at Schuba's Tavern on Monday, 7/9. The residency will celebrate the release of the group's sophomore album, Cold City.

The Shams have hand-picked support acts from all over the US, putting together stellar line-ups in the process. The July 9 bill will feature white hot duo Shovels & Rope, who are familiar to fans of the HBO series True Blood for a closing credits placement of the song "Hells Bells." Jeremy David Miller (lead screamer from local horror punks Rambos) will open the show.

On Monday, July 16, The Shams Band will be joined by two more fine local acts, Derek Nelson & the Musicians and Elephant Gun. The bill on 7/23 will feature Nashville's Daniel Ellsworth & the Great Lakes and Chicago rockers Young Jesus. The final night of the residency, Monday July 30, sports power pop kings Archie Powell & the Exports and Nashville's Young Hines as support.
