Eclectic World/Americana Sounds Mark Final Day of Taste of Chicago

Sunday, July 15 is the final day of this year's Taste of Chicago and it is "variety day" on the Bud Light Stage at Columbus and Balbo.

"Variety," in this case, means a healthy mix of world and Americana sounds. Kicking things off at noon is Chicago's Las Guitarras De Espana, who use traditional flamenco as a base and add elements of Middle Eastern, Indian and Cuban music with a dash of surf rock. Birds of Chicago (featuring JT Nero of JT & the Clouds) are on next at 1:20PM, followed by the Indian pop group Zamin at 2:40 PM. Chicago gypsy punks Furious Frank (pictured above) take the stage at 4PM directly before Red Eye Rock N' Vote winners The 92s. Springfield, MO bluegrass upstarts The Hillbenders headline at 6:40PM.
